New man for Ireland |
Stephen Currie comes from Newtownards, in the heart of County Down, Northern Ireland. He is assuming the role of Ireland (North & South) Deputation Secretary. An impossible task, you may be tempted to think. Yes, maybe, but God equips different people for different roles and we believe that Stephen has been gifted by the Lord for this strategic and significant role.
A young man, in his early 30s, Stephen is married to Marina, who comes all the way from Minsk in Belarus. They have been married for almost 6 years and have one son, David. An honours graduate from the Irish Baptist College, Stephen is passionate about world mission and has had a particularly heavy burden for reaching Jewish people for many years.
Marina has spent a number of years studying in the USA, gaining a degree in English in the process. A homemaker, in every sense of the word, she totally supports Stephen in this new phase of their lives. They are both up for the challenge and are relishing the fact that the sovereign Lord chose them to be involved in such a vital ministry. Both are in happy fellowship with the believers at the Iron Hall Assembly in Belfast.
Stephen will be out there in churches and mission halls, at conferences and prayer groups, seeking to reach a new generation and enthuse them about Jewish mission ... his commitment to Jesus Christ is exemplary and, with Marina alongside him, they will prove to be a tremendous asset to the Mission for many years to come.
Please get in touch with Stephen – from 1 January 2009 he will be handling all the Mission’s work in Ireland – you can reach him in a number of ways:
